The Executive Committee performs all the functions assigned to it by the Council and assists the Director in carrying out his/her duties, including:
a) managing relations between research laboratories and between these and technical services; supervising the use of shared services, spaces, equipment, and resources for research activities;
b) managing relations with other University structures and with public or private bodies with which the Department shares research projects;
c) managing relations with schools and with bodies and structures involved in teaching, training, and science communication.
The Executive Committee is composed of the following members:

- prof. Albino Perego, Coordinator for Didactic Activities
- prof.ssa Daniela Ascenzi
- prof. Giovanni Andrea Prodi
- prof. Giacomo Baldi
- dr. Michele Bommassar, representative of technical and administrative staff
Typically, the Executive Committee meets a week before the Department Council.
The Director may invite the coordinators of the Doctoral Programs to the Board meetings for the discussion of topics concerning the functioning of the Programs themselves.
